Writing about family rules (Viết về những quy tắc trong gia đình)

Task 1: Work in groups. What rules do you have in your family? Discuss these topics and add others. Use the following verbs and expressions.

Gợi ý:

• During school year, I am not allowed to come home late except weekend
• When I have exams, I am not permitted to watch TV.
• In my family, everybody have to join in the dinners
• My parents do not let me use the family motobike until I have the driving lisence.
• My sister is not allowed to going out with friends in the evening.

Task 2: Use the ideas you have discussed above to write a letter to a pen pal about your family rules. Begin as follows.

Dear Lan,

I was so glad to receive your letter talking about you family rules last week, and now I want to share with you mine. Here are some rules in my family that set up for me and my sister as well as the rules that applied to all members of the family. Because my sister and I are students so that we are not allowed to use family's motobikes until we have driving lisences, so that if I go out with my friend, my parents wil take me to the place or we will use buses or taxi. And my parents also do not let us come home of watch TV late at night because it will affect to your health and study.

My parents also have some rules to follow like us.Keeping the peaceful and happy asmosphere are very important to us. So that we often try to avoid conflicts. Every member in the family has to share housework and responsibilities of build up the family. My responsibility is doing laundry and take out the garbage while my mother preparing meals and my father clean up the house. My sister will wash dishes and hang out wet clothes.

Here are some rules of my family, there are not many similarity between your family and mine. Do you think so? Please send me a letter as soon as possible and tell me more about your family. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
